Rosary for Chuck Abair Tonight in Santa Ana
A rosary for Chuck Abair, Orange County Register sportswriter who died Saturday in Las Cruces, N.M., will be said at 7 tonight at the Brown Colonial Mortuary, 204 W. 17th St., in Santa Ana. Viewing hours will be from 5:30 to 9 tonight.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, 1344 S. Main St., in Santa Ana, and a reception will be held in the church afterward. A private interment for Abair, who served in the Navy during the Korean War, will be held at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.
Abair, 62, spent 22 years as a reporter at The Register and has covered Fullerton athletics on and off since 1970. He was in Las Cruces to cover Saturday’s Fullerton-New Mexico State football game.
