Countywide : Shared Housing Program for Seniors
The county’s 15 Shared Housing programs want senior citizens who cannot afford their rents to know that they are eligible for affordable housing.
Shared Housing pairs those who cannot afford to live alone due to skyrocketing rents with people who are willing to share their homes at low rates.
More than 8,500 people have been paired since 1978.
The programs are free home-finder referral services that have homes available in 15 cities throughout the county.
