Sara Compinsky; Pianist, Performed With Two Brothers

Sara Compinsky, 88, a pianist and the last surviving member of the Compinsky Trio that performed throughout the United States through the 1940s and ‘50s. With her brothers, Manuel, a violinist, and Alec, a cellist, she came to the United States in the 1920s. They formed their trio when they were children in Europe and performed in the major concert halls there, including a command performance in London. She married Fred Rosenbaum in 1937 but continued to play with the trio until Alec’s death in 1960. She then concertized with Manuel and other musical groups until his death in 1989. She was a teacher in the Southland until 1987. On Tuesday in Los Angeles.
