Nancy Valenta Resigns as KNBC News Director
Nancy Valenta resigned Monday as news director at KNBC-TV Channel 4, which fared poorly in the November ratings sweeps that concluded last week.
A replacement was not immediately named.
Valenta, who had headed the station’s news operation since 1990, announced her departure in a short memo distributed to the staff. She offered no explanation for the move.
Rumors had been circulating at the station for more than a month that she was on the verge of being replaced. KNBC’s news ratings have been on the decline and took another dive in November.
