PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Knox Not Worried About Motivation

Now that the chance for a playoff spot is remote, will motivation become a problem for the 4-8 Rams? Coach Chuck Knox doesn’t think so, at least not for the players who care about job security.

“There’s still a lot of the season to be played,” Knox said. “And it’s still a game you play for pride. Football players have to understand that every time they go on the football field, it’s an investment in their future because everybody sees the tapes. They’ll see you going one-on-one with somebody, whether it’s blocking or tackling or covering or receiving.

“The motivation to play begins with pride in yourself. You’ve hired on to do a job and you’ve got to come out every day and do that job to the best of your God-given talent.”
