Nintendo Says Antitrust Probe Is Dropped: Japanese video game giant Nintendo Co. said the Federal Trade Commission concluded a two-year antitrust investigation against it without taking action. It said the FTC launched the probe in 1990 to decide whether Nintendo’s rapid success occurred through monopolization or other unfair means of competition. Nintendo also pointed out that a San Francisco jury vindicated it in a monopoly action brought by rival Atari Corp.
