Downey : Calsan Trash Firm Opens Drive-Up Recycling Center

A drive-through recycling center for items covered under the state redemption program has been opened by Calsan Inc., a refuse company serving several Southeast cities.
The center, at Calsan headquarters at 9821 Downey & Norwalk Road, Downey, pays cash for aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic soft drink containers, hard plastic containers, newspapers, cardboard and computer, white and colored paper. Hours for the center, called the SORT (Saving Our Resources Together) PORT, are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
