Study on HIV and Dental Tools
<p>I thought the purpose of a newspaper was to report news. This is not news. This falls more under the category “sensationalism” or “emotionalism.”
Articles like this do nothing more than scare patients (who are already scared) away from routine dental check-ups. As the article finally states, “Clearly, dentists have been doing this (sterilization) all along.” So, if this sterilization has been occurring “all along,” why the article? You have done the dental profession and the public a grave disservice with this kind of reporting.
Incidentally, dentists and dental hygienists do not use tools. We use instruments.
