HUNTINGTON BEACH : City to Publish Industrial Register

The city’s Business Development Division is putting the final touches on an Industrial Register that officials hope will boost sales of products between manufacturing businesses operating in the city.

The publication, which is expected to include 400 industrial manufacturers, is scheduled to be available shortly after the first of the year. It will include the company’s name, address, telephone and fax numbers and a brief description of its products.

All costs will be borne by the Business Development Division as part of a recently implemented city program to keep businesses in Huntington Beach.

“It is a joint effort by the city and the Chamber of Commerce to try to help industries grow and keep them from moving out of the city,” Michael J. Gifford, a city business development specialist, said.

The Chamber of Commerce’s role is to survey the number of businesses to be included in the publication, Gifford said.

Manufacturers who have not been contacted about getting their names printed in the register should call the Chamber of Commerce at (714) 536-8888, Gifford said.

All manufacturers that are included in the publication will receive a complimentary copy.
