Limiting Speeches Could Curtail Congressional Grandstanding
I found “GOP Hollers at Plan to Limit House Speeches” amusing.
I always get a chuckle when Bob Dornan pouts about the cameras panning an empty chamber while he roars and flails about in late-night floor speeches. He complains that the Democrats deliberately try to embarrass him.
I think the Republicans should rethink their protest of the plan to scale back special-order speeches. After all, what’s more embarrassing: having the viewing public know that 1) no one gives a flip about what Dornan has to say, or 2) no one wants to be associated with his outrageous and offensive remarks?
