Classical Scene: The Sacramento Symphony has canceled all its remaining concerts for this season and plans to file for bankruptcy. The moves come in the wake of its musicians rejecting a proposal to cut pay and benefits by $774,000. The symphony has been struggling with increasing deficits for six years, due in large part to the recession, and finished the 1991-92 fiscal year with a $389,000 annual deficit and a $1.1 million cumulative deficit. . . . Yuri Temirkanov, who is here guest-conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, has been named principal conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been the Royal Philharmonic’s principal guest conductor for the last decade, and is also music director and principal conductor of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
