Rep. Harman Wins Seat on 2 Key Panels
South Bay’s freshman U.S. Rep. Jane Harman has been named to both the House’s Armed Services Committee and its Science, Space and Technology Committee, it was announced Thursday.
Harman (D-Marina del Rey) said she pursued the committee assignments because they are key positions from which she can help her coastal district’s aerospace industry adjust to a peacetime economy.
“This is such an important first step,” Harman said after the assignments were announced. “We got both the assignments we were hoping for.”
