2 Robbery Suspects Shot by Clinton Bodyguards
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Secret Service agents assigned to protect President-elect Bill Clinton apparently shot and wounded two robbery suspects near the hotel where the agents were staying, police said.
The agents came under fire Friday from the suspects who were fleeing the AmeriSuites Inn hotel after apparently trying to rob the desk clerk, Detective Sgt. Carroll Harrison of the Little Rock police said. The agents pursued the suspects by car, returning fire.
Harrison said there were four suspects involved in the incident. He said two of the three taken into custody were wounded, while the fourth suspect remained at large.
