From Staff and Wire Reports
The Dallas Mavericks reportedly are ready to part with unsigned top draft pick Jim Jackson for Sacramento’s Lionel Simmons. A deal with the Kings under discussion also includes Sacramento’s No. 1 pick in next year’s draft, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reported.
The Mavericks are expected to pursue the trade offer after a staff meeting today.
Jackson announced Friday that he has re-enrolled at Ohio State and plans to enter the 1993 NBA draft, rather than continue negotiations with Dallas, which was unwilling to give Jackson a guaranteed six-year contract.
