Music Nominees: Mariah Carey came away with six nominations to lead the pack Tuesday as nominations were announced for the 20th annual American Music Awards. Carey’s nominations include favorite female singer and favorite album in both the soul/R&B; and adult contemporary categories for her “Unplugged” collection. Michael Jackson (who has won 14 awards in past years) and rookie hip-hip act Kris Kross got five nominations each, while Arrested Development is up for the best new act in three different genres: pop/rock, soul/R&B; and rap/hip-hop. The awards will be given Jan. 25 at the Shrine Auditorium and seen on ABC.
