Glendale : 2 More to Run for Council
Two more candidates announced this week that they will seek election to the City Council in April.
Bob Yousefian, 36, a Glendale building contractor active in homeowner and civic affairs, and Bob Torres, 37, a Montrose real estate consultant who ran unsuccessfully two years ago, said they will seek nomination when candidate filing opens Jan. 7.
They join two other candidates who previously declared: homeowner activist David G. Weaver, 53, a civil engineer, and John Beach, 47, a semi-retired computer programmer who also failed in a 1991 bid for the council.
City officials are predicting a large field of candidates in the April 6 election when Mayor Carl Raggio will vacate a seat he has held for eight years. Council members Ginger Bremberg and Dick Jutras, whose terms also are expiring, have not announced if they will seek reelection.
