Parting Glances

There is Desi Arnaz relaxing in his pool, a dolphin swimming along shore, farm workers harvesting flowers, a glider pilot soaring above it all. Since the San Diego Edition of the Los Angeles Times was established in 1978, Times photographers have been keeping their eye on North County--looking for the images that tell the story and capture the spirit of this diverse region. This, the 141st issue, is the final one for North County Focus. With the rest of the San Diego Edition, it ceases publication this week. On the following pages, a sampling of images from the past 15 years.
