SIZZLING SYMPHONY: How busy is the Pacific Symphony? How about five concerts in 24 hours? Friday night the symphony played with the singing group Manhattan Transfer, and will again tonight. In between: two children’s concerts this morning, and Handel’s Messiah with the Pacific Chorale later today--all five at the Performing Arts Center. . . . Says symphony spokesman Derick Yih: “The more the merrier. It’s work, meaning we get paid. And you have to take work when you can.”
