New Prosecutor Named to Case
Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti has appointed a new deputy to the team prosecuting the three men accused of beating and robbing trucker Reginald Denny and others during the riots.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Janet Moore, 39, will replace Frank Sundstedt, who recently was appointed one of two assistant district attorneys, Garcetti said.
For the past five years, Moore has been assigned to the Hard Core anti-gang prosecution unit in the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office in Torrance. She will join Deputy Dist. Atty. Larry Morrison in the prosecution of Damian Williams, Henry Watson and Antoine Miller, who have been charged in the attack on Denny.
Moore has been a prosecutor in about 80 trials, including nearly two dozen murder cases, Garcetti said.
