Doo Dah Parade and the Disabled
I’m writing about the lack of access for the disabled at the Doo Dah Parade.
I’m in a wheelchair, and a few years ago I got pushed around, trampled and had my view blocked. This year I called the Pasadena Police Department special events section and asked if there was a viewing area for the disabled.
The Rose Parade and even the Date Festival Parade in Indio have special viewing areas . . . Pasadena Police said they did not know of any viewing areas for the disabled, but they gave me a number for the Doo Dah Parade.
The number was the prerecorded event information tape with no information about disabled access. I called the police back and asked if they had another number for the Doo Dah Parade. The only number they had was the prerecorded message.
