Schools’ Priority for the Arts Encouraging

Our readers wrote letters throughout 1992, expressing their viewpoints on a variety of issues. Here are condensed versions of some of those letters to help us remember the events that mattered to Orange County readers this past year. We would like to thank the readers who took the time to share their views, and we look forward to hearing from them and others in 1992.

In a time when the news is so grim about our public school system and our government is so unsupportive of the arts, it is refreshing and encouraging to read that the Garden Grove Unified School District has chosen to make fine arts a priority.

I can’t think of a better way to bridge the gaps of race, religion and language than to be introduced to something we can all understand, a song we can all sing, a painting we can all admire or just the desire to learn and share something beautiful.
