Irvine’s Fluor Creates, Fills New Post of Vice President for Finance
J. Michal Conaway has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of finance for Fluor Corp., an Irvine-based engineering, construction, maintenance and technical services company. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate general accounting, treasury, tax, real estate, pension and trust investments and risk management functions. Conaway had been vice president, chief financial officer and member of the board of directors of National Gypsum Co. and its parent, Aancor Holdings Inc. in Dallas. From 1974 to 1988, Conaway was with Texas Eastern Corp. in Houston, where he held several senior executive positions, including senior vice president and chief financial officer.
