Northeast L.A. : No Free Lunches in Parks
A program sponsored by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department that would have provided free lunches at local parks to children during winter break has been canceled.
The winter lunch program could not be started because the department was unable to retain a vendor with refrigerated trucks for the six weeks between Jan. 4 and Feb. 12.
The Los Angeles Unified School District will continue to offer its free lunch program for those on winter break. Parents should contact the school district for locations.
