ROUNDUP : Loyola Women Roll to 72-61 Victory
The Loyola Marymount women’s basketball team moved into first place in the West Coast Conference with a 72-61 victory over St. Mary’s on Saturday night at Gersten Pavilion.
Sheri Brown had a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lions (13-5, 4-2 in WCC play). Loyola has won 11 of its past 14 games and is 10-0 at home.
St. Mary’s (9-9, 3-3) was led by Christina Marshall, who had 16 points.
Loyola plays at San Diego on Thursday.
Freshman designated hitter Jerrod Jenke hit three home runs as UC Santa Barbara beat the Loyola baseball team, 13-7, Saturday at Goleta.
Loyola won Friday’s game, 4-3, as Jesse Ibarra hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth.
The teams conclude the series today.
The UCLA men’s volleyball team defeated Loyola, 15-12, 15-4, 15-8, Saturday night at Pauley Pavilion.
