FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Police Given Funds for Computer Gear
A Fountain Valley security systems company has donated $2,560 to the city’s Police Department to buy computer software and hardware to expedite investigations.
Police Capt. Bill De Nisi said the department’s detective bureau now tracks cases manually.
“This is step one of the computerization of the detective bureau,” De Nisi said. “This is going to get us into the 21st Century.”
Chief Elvin G. Miali said that computerizing the detective bureau will significantly decrease the time and effort it takes for investigation.
JMG Security Systems, which installs and services alarm systems, is responsible for the gift. Ken Jacobs, JMG president, said the company made the donation because the firm gets “tremendous support from the Police Department, and we feel a company like ours should give back to the community.”
