Tailback Kevin Williams of UCLA was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation and fined $405 after pleading no contest to two misdemeanor weapons charges Tuesday in the Beverly Hills Municipal Court.

He also was put on two years’ probation and fined $270 for driving with a suspended license.

Williams was arrested, along with teammate Bruce Walker, during a routine traffic stop last month when Beverly Hills police found a loaded handgun in the vehicle that Williams was driving. He pleaded no contest to possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.

Judge Charles G. Rubin warned Williams that a probation violation involving a firearm “will involve heavy county jail time.”

The case against Walker, who also was charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and carrying a concealed firearm, was continued until Feb. 25.

In another development, linebacker Jamir Miller, who was charged with two misdemeanor weapons violations in Torrance, has been suspended from all UCLA athletic activities, pending a resolution of his case.

Miller was arrested Jan. 17 after a Torrance police officer allegedly found two loaded handguns in the car he was driving. Miller and his uncle, New York Jet defensive lineman Mark Gunn, a passenger in the car, were charged with possession of a concealed firearm and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

The charges are misdemeanors which carry a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
