Police Seek Suspect in Slaying of Man, 40
ANAHEIM —
Police were searching Sunday for a suspect in connection with the early morning slaying of a 40-year-old man.
At 12:45 a.m., police were called to an apartment at 414 S. Melrose St., where they found Jose Alvarenga shot several times in the chest. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said they are searching for Octavio Garcia Zentina, 24, who witnesses said had argued with Alvarenga and allegedly shot him with a handgun before fleeing. The suspect’s description and hometown were not available, police said.
