Hueneme senior forward Wendell Nunnery was a one-man wrecking crew in two important Channel League victories last week.

In games against league favorites Ventura and Santa Barbara, Nunnery totaled 60 points on 19-for-27 shooting. He made five of six shots from three-point range and 15 of 21 from the free-throw line. He had 23 rebounds in the two victories, which gave Hueneme a share ofsecond place in league play for its best finish in 11 years. . . .

Scoring: Crescenta Valley senior guard Adam Jacobsen continues to climb up the school single-season scoring chart. Jacobsen has 637 points in 19 games and ranks ninth on the list. Ahead of him are recognizable names, all of whom led the Southern Section in scoring average, according to Falcon Coach John Goffredo. Included among the school’s top eight are former college standouts Brad Holland (UCLA), Greg Goorjian (Loyola Marymount) and Harvey Mason (Arizona). . . .

Hoover’s Chad Reese finished his career with 1,447 points, second on the school’s all-time list to Joe Hillman, who scored 2,213, seventh in Southern Section history. . . . Village Christian has four players shooting better than 70% from the free-throw line: Jason Orso (76.9%), Chad Hanson (72.7%), Billy Oliver (70.6%) and Dave Gustafson (70.2%).

Records: Village Christian set a school record with its 11th consecutive victory last week. The Crusaders set another school mark by winning their 18th game overall. The previous high was 17 in the 1988-89 season. . . .

Crespi made the playoffs by winning five of its last six games. St. Genevieve made the playoffs despite losing six of its last seven regular-season games. The Valiants beat Bell-Jeff in a playoff to determine third place in the Camino Real League.

Wrestling: Sean Burns of Agoura improved to 36-0 and won a third consecutive Marmonte League championship at 171 pounds with a 7-0 victory Saturday over Darren Hatch of Camarillo. . . . Rich Moakley of Highland (160 pounds) was upset by Antelope Valley’s Mark Farris, 8-5, in the Golden League final. Moakley is 48-3. Farris improved to 36-4. . . .

Alemany’s James Castaneda (109) and Willie Arreola (152) recorded victories in the Mission League finals. Castaneda improved to 30-0, Arreola to 30-1.

Girls’ basketball: Thousand Oaks has set a school record with 26 consecutive victories, surpassing the mark of 23 established last season. The Lancers have won 49 of their last 50 games, the only loss coming to Lynwood in the third round of last year’s state tournament. . . .

Bell-Jeff’s school-record 20 consecutive wins is a high-water mark for the Guards in any sport. . . . Nordhoff (21-1) equaled its school single-season total for victories by beating Santa Clara last week.
