BURBANK : Palos Verdes Man Held in Slaying
An aquarium designer was shot to death at his Burbank business Sunday evening and a Palos Verdes Estates man was arrested on suspicion of the killing, authorities said Monday.
Sam Douglas Lund, 34, of North Hollywood was pronounced dead about 7 p.m. after police responded to reports of gunfire at Ocean in Your Home, Lund’s business in the 2500 block of North Ontario Street, Burbank Police Sgt. Robert Brode said.
Lund had been shot several times.
Later that night, police arrested Mark Charles Dugan, 33, on suspicion of murder at Dugan’s house in Palos Verdes Estates, Brode said. Dugan was being held at the Burbank Police Station without bail.
Information on the motive for the crime and the relationship between the two men remained sketchy Monday.
“The investigation is continuing into the relationship between the two individuals,” Brode said. “At this time, we’re not at liberty to disclose that information or how we got information as to where the suspect was.”
