Leslie Norman; Producer of ‘The Cruel Sea’

Leslie Norman, 81, producer of the film “The Cruel Sea.” The 1953 picture starred Jack Hawkins in a heroic tale of British minesweeper crews escorting food convoys across the Atlantic during World War II. Among Norman’s other productions were “A Run for Your Money” with Alec Guinness, “Dunkirk” and “The Long and the Short and the Tall.” In London on Feb. 18 of injuries suffered in a car accident.
