Reaction Still Strong to Shoemaker’s Suit

Those irate citizens who are apparently so appalled by Bill Shoemaker’s recent agreement with Ford Motor Co. obviously don’t know the man, his family, his attorney, or the circumstances.

Nor, it should be added, have they a clue as to how difficult it is to achieve a sizable settlement from such a major entity.

Perhaps when all the details surrounding the accident and resultant treatments are forthcoming, the critics will cozy up to an unbiased mirror and ask themselves what they would do if the shoes were on the other feet.

It seems someone should stand up for this upstanding champion until, hopefully, he’s able to stand up himself.
