Nets Lose Anderson for Rest of the Season
Point guard Kenny Anderson of the New Jersey Nets will sit out the rest of the season because of a broken left wrist, the team announced Monday.
Doctors decided to put a full cast on Anderson’s arm, and surgery remains a strong possibility, a specialist said.
Anderson suffered the injury a little more than a week ago when he was shoved to the court by John Starks of the New York Knicks while Anderson was going in for a layup. Starks was called for a flagrant foul and was fined $5,000.
Anderson, who blossomed into one of the NBA’s better point guards this season, his second, and averaged 16.9 points and 8.2 assists in 55 starts, was not immediately available for comment.
