Stern Edited: Classic rock station KLSX-FM (97.1) cut out a large, racy portion of the top-rated but controversial morning drive-time show of Howard Stern Wednesday morning, leaving many listeners baffled. The first few hours of Stern’s syndicated show--taped in New York--are heard live from 3-6 a.m. and then rebroadcast from 6-10:30 a.m. In the live program, Stern featured an interview with actress Jessica Hahn in which he “got her to describe her private parts in lurid detail,” according to a station source. But the Hahn interview was edited out of the second broadcast. The station may be nervous because it was cited for indecency in October by the Federal Communications Commission, which issued the company a record fine of $105,000. Station officials were unavailable for comment.
