Library’s Overdue System Falls Through the Cracks

HOOVER, Ala. — Officials at Hoover Library are apologizing to patrons accused of failing to return overdue books and videotapes. This week, more than 30 “overdue” books and videos were found in a crack in a library wall. A flaw in the building’s outdoor book drop was sending library materials inside the wall instead of down the chute to be returned.
