School Should Be Safe Haven
As I sit here and watch television over the last few weeks, all I’m hearing about is violence and sex crimes on our school campuses. What’s happening to us?
I wish adults would realize how much we youth have to deal with over and above our academic subjects. I hear about kids being killed right on our streets, and even campuses. Isn’t school supposed to be a safe haven?
It makes me feel awful to try and function in an environment where school police are everywhere, metal detectors are soon going to be used, and where I am constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure no one has a weapon.
