‘Pinocchio’ Sales Brisker Than Expected: Walt Disney Co. said it shipped more than 10.2 million videocassettes to retailers just before the animated classic went on sale last week, exceeding the 8 million copies that had been projected. The Burbank-based company added that an estimated 4 million copies have been sold so far, and that the film is likely to become one of Disney’s best-selling videos ever. Pinocchio, which was released on videocassette in the mid-1980s, is Disney’s first major title to be re-released.
