SANTA PAULA : Sign-Ups Scheduled for Kindergarten
Santa Paula parents are urged to avoid a last-minute rush and register their children next month for kindergarten classes in the Santa Paula Elementary School District.
Early registration will be held at Barbara Webster Elementary School on May 4; Blanchard School, May 6; Grace Thille School, May 11; Glen City, May 12; Thelma Bedell School, May 13; and McKevett School on May 18. Registration will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
Parents must bring their child’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport to the school to verify date of birth. Also needed is the child’s immunization record and proof of residence.
Children who turn 5 years old on or before Dec. 2, 1993, are eligible for kindergarten, school officials said.
The state requires that children be immunized for polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, measles, mumps and rubella. Parents are also required to bring proof of a complete physical examination. If a child has not had a physical, the school will provide one free of charge during early registration.
Parents who miss early sign-up may register their children anytime between now and August, officials said.
