Overseas Sales Boost Electronics Firm’s Earnings

California Amplifier Inc., a Camarillo maker of microwave amplifiers for satellite dishes and wireless cable systems, said a sharp increase in foreign sales helped push its overall sales and earnings higher in the fiscal fourth quarter and year ended Feb. 27.

The company’s fourth-quarter profit rose to $840,000, a 34% increase from $627,000 a year earlier. Its sales were up 50%, to $10.4 million from $6.9 million.

For the year, California Amplifier reported that its earnings nearly doubled to $3.05 million from $1.58 million the previous year. Sales grew 73%, to $35.8 million from $20.6 million.
