Wimbledon plans to mark this summer’s 100th women’s tennis championships with special tributes, but not equal prize money.
The All England Club announced that total prize money for the June 21-July 4 tournament will be nearly $8 million, with the overall men’s share 21% higher than the women’s.
Of the four Grand Slam tournaments, only the U.S. Open and Australian Open offer the same prize money to men and women.
