Murphy’s Appointment Is Delayed
Gene Murphy, who had expected to be introduced today at a press conference as Fullerton College’s football coach, will have to wait at least two more weeks to assume the role.
Murphy, who retired last fall after 13 seasons at Cal State Fullerton, accepted the job Friday. His hiring was supposed to be taken to the North Orange County Community College Board of Trustees Tuesday for approval.
Fullerton wasn’t ready to put Murphy’s name on the agenda for Tuesday. The next scheduled meeting of the board is May 11 and Murphy’s name is expected to be submitted for approval then.
