Visit the World War II-vintage ship Lane...
Visit the World War II-vintage ship Lane Victory in San Pedro this weekend and you will get to see model boats in the bargain.
Members of Maritime Modelers, a decade-old model boat club, plan to display their hobby craft on the Lane Victory on Saturday and Sunday to attract donations for the Victory’s restoration. The
models will be electric, steam and sail boats, all of them radio controlled.
The Maritime Modelers club meets on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at the lake at Cerritos Regional Park in Cerritos. According to club President Bob Herrera, models can cost up to $20,000.
