SPUDS LIFE: The Orange County Fair people do dare to be different. They’ve just announced that the July extravaganza will include a “Couch Potato” contest. Before you laugh, the winner gets $1,500 and two years free at a family fitness center. . . . Three finalists must sit at least 11 hours a day in designated booths-- for all 17 fair days-- and let thousands of gawkers watch them stare at TV and pig out on chips. Fair-goers vote for their favorite. A tip from the contest brochure: “Be creative in your inactivity.”
