Nation IN BRIEF : NATIONWIDE : Testing of Propellers Is Ordered by FAA

The Federal Aviation Administration ordered immediate inspections of the type of propellers suspected in last week’s airplane crash in Iowa that killed South Dakota Gov. George Mickelson and seven others. The order grounds 116 aircraft until the propellers can be inspected--or replaced--and only applies to the Mitsubishi MU-2, the heaviest, most powerful plane on which the propeller is used and the only one where it has failed, the FAA said.
