Nashville Cats: One of Los Angeles’s top law firms is expanding to Nashville, in recognition of that city’s thriving music scene.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, whose entertainment division represents such acts as Guns N’ Roses, Barbra Streisand and Cher, will open the new office in August. It will be staffed by Manatt attorney Ken Kraus, who already handles such Nashville-based clients as Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.

Lee Phillips, a senior partner in the firm, said Manatt Phelps hopes to better service existing clients and gain new ones by hanging its shingle on Nashville’s famed Music Row. The firm will also target Nashville-based health care and banking companies.
