KICKING IN: When kicker Efren Herrera’s NFL football career ended in 1982, he did a few Lite beer commercials and worked here for the federal government. But mainly he’s tried to help other Latino youngsters. One of his projects, formed with appellate Justice Manuel Ramirez, has raised $227,000 for Latinos who need scholarship help to even consider college. “We still meet at Efren’s house” in Orange, says a colleague. “He isn’t just a celebrity who lends his name.” Next up: His fund-raising celebrity golf tournament in June.
