Silverwood Lake Is Still <i> the</i> Place for Stripers

Silverwood Lake, renowned for big striped bass but upstaged recently by lake records at Castaic and Quail Lakes, broke loose the past week with eight stripers of 27 pounds or larger, topped by a 42-4 catch by Karl Fillip of Fontana.

The bite followed a trout plant last Friday that drew the stripers close to shore.
