Anne Marie Duggan of La Habra led after the first four rounds of qualifying Thursday at the $100,000 BPAA U.S. Open in Garland, Tex.
Duggan, who won the 1991 U.S. Open, averaged 224 and held a 178-pin lead over Kim Couture.
Stacy Rider of La Habra was eighth, qualifying as one of the 24 bowlers who advanced to match play.
