Mayne Inducted Into Coaches’ Hall
SACRAMENTO — Mike Mayne, who coached at Orange Coast for 15 seasons and won 400 games, was inducted into the California College Baseball Assn. Coaches’ Hall of Fame Saturday.
Mayne was 400-188, winning six conference titles and a State title (1980) at OCC before stepping down after the 1992 season.
Mayne, who did not attend the ceremony, is an assistant for the OCC football team.
Also inducted were Mike Gillespie from College of the Canyons, who is now the USC coach; Bernie Flaherty of San Diego City; Joe Noce of San Mateo; Ernie Cecaci of Diablo Valley and Gene Corr of Contra Costa also were inducted.
