BURBANK : Financing OKd for 2 New Courtrooms
Los Angeles County supervisors have approved interim financing to begin construction of two new courtrooms at the Burbank Courthouse, a $7.9-million project intended to relieve overcrowding.
Architectural plans for the project are complete and a contractor has been selected to begin construction. Although the project will be paid for over several years, start-up money is needed until long-term financing is put in place.
In addition to the new courtrooms, plans involve construction of extra space for storage and support staff as well as expansion of the prisoner lockup area.
