Cudahy : Indoor Sports Complex Expected to Open July 15
The city’s first indoor sports complex is expected to open July 15, city officials said.
The Sen. Bill Greene Sports Complex at 4835 Clara St. will include a gym with two courts that can be used for basketball or volleyball, a scoreboard, and a multipurpose room with a stage and dressing rooms.
“This means we have an increased ability to provide services, plus it means we can open it up to adult leagues and can now host more functions,” said Rob Gaylord, the city’s parks and recreation manager.
The new complex and the renovation of the adjacent Leo P. Turner Community Center cost about $1.29 million in state and federal funds, said Wendy Wims, an assistant in the city manager’s office.
